Commercial Street Task Force Public Forum Sept. 23

The Commercial Street Task Force will hold a public forum from 6:30-8:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 23, 2009, in the City Council Chambers in Historic City Hall, 830 Boonville Ave. The Task Force’s formal charge includes hearing from various stakeholders, including citizens, about the current state of the district as well as planned actions and improvements. The forum follows seven meetings during the past two months by this group.

The Commercial Street Task Force is chaired by Zone 1 City Councilman Nick Ibarra. Information related to the Task Force is now available on the City Web site at: This page includes the full membership of the group, its charge, all presentations and materials brought before the group, and minutes from past meetings.

Citizens are not required to sign up in advance to speak at the Sept. 23 forum. Speakers will be asked to keep their comments to a five-minute time frame followed by questions from Task Force members, similar to the procedure for speaking before City Council.
