Jefferson Avenue Lane Closure
Jefferson Avenue between Olive Street and McDaniel Street will drop to one lane of through traffic for two weeks beginning at 8 p.m., Oct. 27, 2009, for the permanent repair of the street surface in that area. Jefferson will remain open to through traffic throughout the repair process, which will take place mostly at night.
The street will fully re-open by 5 p.m., Nov. 10, 2009, weather permitting.
This section of Jefferson Avenue suffered significant damage after the rupture of a water main below the surface this summer. Following comprehensive water main repairs by City Utilities, a temporary road surface was installed. The current repair work, to be done by contractor APAC under City supervision, will result in a permanent road surface.
