Police Investigate Counterfeit Bills

The Springfield Police Department has arrested a 27-year old Springfield man after he was found possessing eight counterfeit twenty dollar bills. Cody Sapp was arrested on 11/12/09 when an officer made contact with him in the 900 block of South Campbell just before 2:30 a.m. The bogus money was found in Sapp’s billfold after he was arrested on a drug charge.

During the past week over 15 incidents of counterfeit bills have been reported to police. In nearly all the cases the bills have been twenty dollar bills.
