H1N1 Vaccination Locations Expanded

Upon receipt of 14,500 doses of H1N1 vaccine Friday (12/18), the Springfield-Greene County Health Department has expanded the H1N1 vaccination program to additional points of delivery for public convenience.

In addition to the health care providers, schools systems and other partners, the H1N1 vaccine will now be available at select Walgreens stores.

"Our goal is to vaccinate as many people as we can as safely and as efficiently as possible," says assistant director of health Clay Goddard. "Retail outlets can offer multiple locations, extended hours and convenience to the customer. Every person we vaccinate reduces the risk of another wave of cases in our community. We believe offering multiple opportunities for vaccination will encourage more people to be vaccinated and will ultimately benefit and protect our community."

H1N1 vaccinations will be available at five Walgreens locations in Greene County for a fee of $18.00 each. Hours will be posted at the stores, or customers may call the store in advance for information.
