Counterfeiters Charged

Two Springfield men have been charged with Forgery and Possessing of Forgery Instrumentality after Springfield Police served a search warrant in the 600 block of West Madison.

Michael E. McDonald-Collins and Michael T. Cass were arrested Wednesday night after police found counterfeit money, a printer and items that had been purchased with counterfeit money at the residence. Both men are being held in the Greene County Jail. McDonald has a $15,000 bond, and Cass his being held in lieu of a $10,000 bond.

During the past two months there have been multiple reports of counterfeit money being passed to local businesses. The Springfield Police Department and the U.S. Secret Service are continuing the investigation.
