Signal at Delaware and Primrose to Begin Operation

The new traffic signal on Primrose Street at Delaware Avenue will begin 11 days of flashing operation starting at 7 a.m. on Friday, Feb., 26, 2010. The signal will flash yellow on Primrose Street and red on Delaware Avenue.

On March 9 the new traffic signal will be turned on to full operations. Changeable message signs will be placed on Primrose in advance of the new signal to notify approaching motorists that the signal will be turned on March 9.

Final construction activities including paving, pavement striping and cleanup will continue into March.

This signalization project was the top priority from the Bradford Park Neighborhood Assessment in April 2008 to help improve safety and accommodate increased traffic in that area. The project is funded through the ¼-cent Sales Tax for Capital Improvements 2007-2010 program. Hartman & Company is the contractor for the project.
