For Immediate Release
Listening Tour Survey Ends Feb. 28
The deadline for participating in the online “Listening Tour” survey for the long-range strategic plan is coming up on Feb. 28, so citizens are encouraged to take part over the next few days.
The online survey is available at: listen.questionpro.com. It will be available until Monday, March 1. The survey is not limited to Springfield residents because the City is encouraging a regional perspective for the long-range plan.
The survey asks the same four questions that are posed to participants at the Listening Tour meetings for community and civic groups:
- What do you value most about Springfield?
- What would you most like to change?
- What is your vision for the year 2030?
- How can you help us get there?
The purpose of gathering the input at the meetings and through the online survey is to provide a base of information for the 11 planning groups as they begin to work on particular topics. City Manager Greg Burris and Greene County Administrator Tim Smith are in the process of selecting co-chairs for the planning groups. The co-chairs will help select committee members with expertise on the topic along with citizens who expressed interest during a recent application process for the planning groups.
The planning group topics are: Arts, Culture and Tourism; Economic Development; Education/Workforce Development; Early Childhood Development; Global Perspectives and Diversity; Growth Management and Land Use; Housing; Natural Environment; Public Health; Public Safety; Transportation; and the overall Strategic Plan Coordinating Committee.
All planning group meetings will be open to the public and will be posted on the City’s weekly meeting calendar posted every Friday at: www.springfieldmo.gov/calendar.
Citizens interested in more information about the long-range strategic plan can submit their contact information as part of the survey or send an e-mail to: email@example.com
