Volunteer Glade/Trail Work Day April 10

A Volunteer Glade/Trail Work Day will be held from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., Saturday, April 10, at Lake Springfield Park, 2312 E. Lake Springfield Park Road.

Volunteers will help in glade restoration and with the continued development of a hiking trail. Work will include dragging small trees and limbs to be mulched, clearing areas of small rocks, mulching trails, etc.

All necessary tools will be provided. Volunteers are asked to bring work gloves, sturdy shoes, water bottle and to dress for the weather. Lunch is provided for all volunteers from noon–1 p.m.

Volunteers should register by calling (417) 864-1051 by Wednesday, April 7, and report to the Lake Springfield Boathouse & Marina to check-in on Saturday. A rain date of Saturday, April 17 is planned. Call the Boathouse at (417) 891-1550 in the event of inclement weather for cancellation details.

The event is presented by the Greater Ozarks Audubon Society, Missouri Department of Conservation, Volunteers for Outdoor Missouri and the Springfield-Greene County Park Board.
