Quarry Name Input Sought

The Jordan Valley Advisory Committee is seeking input from citizens about what to name the quarry redevelopment project at East Trafficway and National Avenue.

The Advisory Committee narrowed its selection of names down to six and would like the public to help make the final decision. A short survey is available at: http://quarryname.questionpro.com or linked from the City of Springfield's Web Site <www.springfieldmo.gov>

The survey will be posted until April 16, 2010. The results will be provided to the Jordan Valley Advisory Committee at its April meeting.

The southern portion of the former quarry site will be redeveloped, beginning with the first phase this summer, into a gateway plaza area to be used as a community multipurpose facility and function as the major gateway into downtown and Jordan Valley. The redevelopment project is funded through grant money available under the federal Economic Development Initiative program.
