Public Invited to Honea's Retirement Reception
The public is invited to a reception at 4 p.m., Thursday, April 22, for Deputy City Manager Evelyn Honea, who is retiring after 28 years of service with the City of Springfield.
The reception will take place in the Busch Building lobby. A program will begin about 4:15 p.m.
A certified public accountant, Honea was named Deputy City Manager in August 2007, after joining the office in 2005 as Assistant City Manager. She has been responsible for supervising several City departments, along with working on specific issues with City Council committees and overseeing projects assigned by the City Manager that involve multiple departments.
Prior to that, she served as Director of Information Systems and Assistant Director of Finance since joining the City in 1982.
She and her husband, Richard, are looking forward to traveling and spending time with their grandchildren.
