Fire Conducts Mass Decon Exercise TODAY

The Springfield Fire Department will conduct a Mass Decon Exercise at Missouri State University, with assistance from the Logan-Rogersville Fire Department Hazardous Materials Team, at 5:30 p.m. today, Wednesday, May 5. The exercise will be held near the corner of Cherry Street and Florence Avenue.

Fifty to 100 members from the Sigma Kappa and Alpha Chi Omega sororities will participate as “contaminated” individuals. As part of the exercise, “contaminated” clothing will be removed and that clothing will be laundered by Glo Cleaners and ultimately donated to the Family Violence Center.
