Charges Filed in Homicide at 721 South Park Ave.

Springfield Police were summoned to 721 South Park Ave. at 1157 A.M on June 18th in reference to a man and woman found inside the home unconscious. Police and EMS arrived and determined the male was deceased and the female was transported to the hospital and was admitted for her injuries. She was released from the hospital on Sunday.

The victim is identified as Jeffrey L Chambers, age 45. An autopsy was performed late Friday. The results indicate Chambers died as the result of multiple stab wounds.

The female was interviewed by Springfield Police detectives Sunday afternoon. The female was arrested in connection to the investigation as a result of the interview. Detectives presented formal charges to the Greene County Prosecutor’s office.

Today, the Greene County Prosecutor filed charges against Sharon Lacanski, 44 year old female for Second Degree Murder and Armed Criminal Action. Lacanski remains in custody in the Greene County Jail on $ 250,000.00 bond.

The investigation continues at this time.
