Springfield, K.C. in Tennis Playoffs
The Springfield Lasers and Kansas City Explorers became the first two teams in the World TeamTennis Pro League presented by GEICO to clinch playoff spots after last night’s matches. The WTT Western Conference Championship match is still up in the air between the two cities, with the venue to be selected after tonight’s league results.
If Springfield wins while visiting the Sacramento Capitals OR Kansas City loses to the visiting Philadelphia Freedoms, the Lasers will host the Western Conference Championship tomorrow night, Friday, July 23. However, if the Lasers lose to the Capitals AND the Explorers win against the Freedoms, the match will be played in Kansas City, as a result of K.C. possessing a tiebreaker edge in head-to-head matches against Springfield.
