Rescue Team Trains With Donated Bus

This week the Springfield Fire Department’s Technical Rescue Team will participate in practical skills training using retired school buses donated by Springfield Public Schools.

In light of the recent tragedy involving a school bus on I-44 near St. James, this training session will enhance the skills needed to gain access to victims inside a school bus when the normal means of entry have been compromised.

The media is invited to view the training between the hours of 1-4 p.m. each day, August 17-19 at the SPS Transportation Center, 1600 E. Chestnut Expressway.

For more information, contact: Assistant Fire Chief Randy Villines, (417) 864-1527.
