National & Seminole Opens Monday

The traffic signal on National Avenue at Seminole Street will be placed into full operation starting at 9 a.m. on Monday, Aug. 23, 2010, with all approaches open to traffic. The Seminole approaches to National have been closed and the signal turned off since May 17, 2010.

The traffic signal will be in flash operation during the upcoming weekend. Resurfacing work will occur today and Saturday with pavement striping to be completed early Monday morning, weather permitting.

Final construction activities and cleanup will continue until late September.

The project is funded by the 1/4-cent Sales Tax for Capital Improvements 2007-2010 program, and included straightening of National to improve driver sightlines, new turn lanes and storm water drainage upgrades. Hartman & Company is the contractor for the project.
