"Lock It to Stop It"

The Springfield Police Department and the Greene County Sheriff’s Office remind citizens that to help reduce property crimes you must “Lock It To Stop It.” October is Crime Prevention Month and the two agencies have partnered with local businesses and media outlets to get the word out that law enforcement and citizens must work together to stop crime. A property crime occurs every 31 minutes.

More than 200 businesses were contacted and asked to put the “Lock It To Stop It” slogan on their billboards and a 30-second audio and video package was sent to local media outlets to help get the word out about the campaign. The Greene County Sheriff’s Office has put the slogan on their electronic message boards, and traditional billboards were put up in the city featuring Police Chief Paul Williams and Sheriff Jim Arnott to help drive home the message that you must “Lock It to Stop It.”
