No Major Incidents During Halloween Pub Crawl
On Saturday, Oct. 30, 2010, the annual Halloween pub crawl took place in the downtown Springfield area. Nice weather contributed to possibly record attendance, with an estimated crowd of 10,000 to 11,000 people, the majority wearing costumes and in a festive mood. The Springfield Police Department had 12 additional officers assigned to the event, with half of those officers made available through a cooperative effort with the Urban Districts Alliance. No major incidents were reported, and overall the Police Department reported a relatively trouble-free event for a crowd of this size.
The Springfield Police Department appreciates the continued cooperation between the downtown area restaurants and businesses, the Urban Districts Alliance, and the citizens of Springfield for making events such as this run smoothly and safely.
