Holiday Parks Events Continue Through December

The Springfield-Greene County Park Board celebrates the holiday season with continued events, including free ice skating, Christmas at the Farm weekends, a holiday ice show, a lighted display and fresh cut trees for sale.

Free ice skating at Mediacom Ice Park, 635 E. Trafficway, continues as part of the six-week Festival of Lights celebration in Center City. Skate rental is available for $2.50. Remaining free admission dates to public sessions include:

The Ice Park also will feature a Holiday Ice Show at 1:30 p.m., Saturday, Dec. 18. Admission is $5; children two and younger are free.

Jordan Valley Park, 735 E. Trafficway, is lighted with the Mayor’s Tree and a holiday lights display through the New Year’s Eve celebration in the park. Lights remain on from dusk until 11 p.m. each evening.

The Rutledge-Wilson Farm Community Park, 3825 W. Farm Road 146, will host Christmas at the Farm on December 4 & 5, 11 & 12, 18 & 19. Saturday hours are 10 a.m. – 8 p.m.; Sunday hours are noon – 8 p.m. The three weekends will include a number of low-cost activities, including:

A limited number of fresh Frasier Fir trees are now on sale, until they are sold out at the Farm Park. Six-to-seven foot trees are $35; seven-to-eight foot trees are $50; eight-to-nine foot trees are $70.
