Airport, Arts Council Present Student Art Exhibit

The airport, along with the Springfield Regional Arts Council, is proud to present a new exhibit at the airport Sky Gallery. The exhibit, on display now until January 20, features select work by Springfield Public School students.

50 student artists have art in the show, representing Hillcrest High School, Kickapoo High School, Parkview High School, Bailey Alternative School, and McBride Elementary School. The exhibit features photography, mixed media, acrylics, ink, and oil.

Sky Gallery exhibits rotate quarterly and include work by members of the Springfield Regional Arts Council, Springfield Public School students, and faculty and students from Missouri State University and Drury University.

The heart of the gallery is the Artport — an art kiosk designed and built by the Drury University Architecture Department. The kiosk is a walk-through structure between two baggage carousels, and is designed to be more than a typical art display.

The gallery, which is located in the lobby of the airport terminal, is open 24 hours a day. Visitors can park free in the short term parking lot for 30 minutes. More information:
