60th Police Academy Graduation

Graduation ceremonies for the officers of the 60th Springfield Police Academy will be held Friday, December 10th, at the Springfield Art Museum, 1111 E. Brookside at 7:00 P.M.

These 18 graduates have undergone 1008 hours (25 weeks) of intense law enforcement training. After graduation, they will be assigned to an experienced field-training officer (FTO) for approximately 520 hours (13 weeks) of on-the-job training. After successful completion of the FTO portion, they will be assigned to the Uniform Division with approximately 1528 hours of training.

This academy class has 16 officers who have completed their B.S. degrees from various colleges and also has 4 officers with prior military experience, two of which are still active in the Reserves and National Guard.
