Fire Joins Emergency Management, BNSF for Hazmat Training
The Springfield Fire Department, in conjunction with BNSF Railway, will conduct hazardous materials training from 1-5 p.m., on March 3, 10, and 17, 2011.
The training will involve a class on railroad operations, a tour of the rail yard facility, and a scenario involving a railroad tank car. The scenario will take place in the small rail yard on Commercial Street between Campbell Avenue and Jefferson Avenue. Attendees of the training will include employees from BNSF Railway, the Springfield and Logan-Rogersville fire departments and the Springfield-Greene County Office of Emergency Management.
