March 19 is National Ag Day Event at Farm Park
Celebrate American agriculture and the farmers who provide for us at the second annual National Ag Day event from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m., Saturday, March 19, at the Rutledge-Wilson Farm Community Park, 3825 W. Farm Road 146.
The event will highlight how necessities like food, fiber, clothing and energy originate and make their way to the consumer. Entry is free to the event.
Ag Day activities include:
- Bluegrass music by Believers Bluegrass and Lost Hill Bluegrass
- Lawn tractor pull
- Farm demonstrations, including sheep shearing and horse shoeing
- Livestock displays
- Educational booths
- Farmer's market vendors
- Wagon rides by Shires for Hire ($3 per person; 4 and younger are free)
The Rutledge-Wilson Farm Park has more than 200 acres of land to explore. Daily amenities include an animal barn, visitor's center and gift shop, chicken coop, farmhouse and milking barn. Visitors also can view crop and garden demonstrations, play on a farm-themed playground or explore the land by taking a walk along Wilson's Creek.
