Ozark Greenways Volunteer Work Day on Frisco Highline Trail

Ozark Greenways is hosting a volunteer work day to spruce up the Frisco Highline Trail from 9 a.m. – 1 p.m., this Saturday, March 19. A couple of miles along this 35-mile-long National Recreation Trail are in need of trimming and clearing. If possible, volunteers should bring tools including limb-loppers, limb-saws, chainsaws and weed-eaters, as well as a water bottle, work gloves and appropriate work shoes/attire.

Volunteers are encouraged, though not required, to RSVP to 417-864-2015. Lunch will be provided for volunteers who RSVP!

Directions: Meet at the Walnut Grove Trailhead at mile marker 16 (about 15 miles north of Springfield). From Springfield, go north on Highway 13, and before Brighton turn left (west) on Highway BB toward Walnut Grove. Stay on BB, even through the road zig-zag. About one mile before the stoplight at Walnut Grove, you'll see the small gravel trailhead on the left (south side of the road).

See our Web site for a trail map and directions:

In case of a cancellation due to weather, call 417-864-2015 for a recorded message by 8 a.m. that morning.
