Public Comment on Land Sale Continues at April 4 Council Meeting

A continued public hearing on the sale of property at 900 W. College Street will be held at next week's Springfield City Council meeting.

At its March 21 meeting, Council voted to continue public comment on Council Bill 2011-073. The bill would approve the sale of a lot at 900 W. College Street to LifeHouse Crisis Maternity Home, a non-profit organization seeking to provide shelter and services to pregnant women and teens in need. The bill was tabled for two weeks to allow time for further discussion between LifeHouse and the West Central Neighborhood Association.

Citizens wishing to speak to City Council are asked to register with the City Clerk. This may be done by calling the City Clerk’s Office prior to the meeting at (417) 864-1650, or by filling out one of the cards that are distributed at the meeting and giving it to the City Clerk before the bill comes up for reading.

The City Council meeting will begin at 6:30 p.m., Monday, April 4, 2011, on the third floor of Historic City Hall, 830 Boonville Ave.
