Free Equestrian Center Event Saturday, April 2

The general public is invited from 9 a.m. – 5 p.m., Saturday, April 2 to Citizen Appreciation Day at Valley Water Mill Park Equestrian Center, 4007 North Farm Road 171, where there will be opportunities to watch horses perform in a number of classes, clinics and demonstrations.

Registered participants with their own horses will participate in a number of "classes" throughout the day, including a silly dress up, western pleasure, barrel racing, trail clinic and class, and egg and spoon. These activities are divided by age and begin at 9 a.m., continuing progressively after awards are given for each group.

The day's events will include some audience participation, including a "stick horse" show for kids younger than nine years of age. Concessions are available for sale during the lunch hour.

"This is a great way for the public to come out and watch what a horse show is all about," said Jennifer Flood with the Sheriff's Mounted Posse of Greene County. "This opportunity is a chance for attendees to see what type of activities are happening at the newly opened facility and perhaps provide examples of what the sport of equine is all about."
