Police Offer New Online Crime Tips Submission

The Springfield Police Department would like to make the public aware of a new process for submitting anonymous tips through a Crime Reports Map located on our website at www.springfieldmo.gov/spd

Users of this site can click on the "Crime Reports Map" located on the left side under "General Information". A map of Springfield will open, and they can then click on a crime icon, which will display more details including a link to submit a tip. The Crime Reports Map can also be accessed at www.crimereports.com

Currently, 172 tips or approximately 25% of the information generated from Crime Reports are received via the internet. The SPD would like to see that number increase through public awareness. The entire process takes no longer than 3 minutes and can provide officers and detectives with critical information necessary to solve a crime.
