Police Investigating Injury at Kum & Go

This morning at 2:38 a.m., officers were dispatched to the Kum & Go at 2953 N. National for a victim with a serious wound to his chest. When officers arrived, they found John James Jr, W/M 2/16/82, alive, but with a wound to his chest which needed immediate medical attention. James was taken to a local area hospital where he was placed in surgery and is currently in serious condition.

Officers detained four subjects who were present on scene and possibly involved in the incident. One of the subjects detained is a bail bondsman in the city and had some association with the other three individuals present.

Currently, all four individuals are being questioned by detectives at police headquarters to determine how the injury occurred to James. The investigation is on-going and more information may be released at a later date.
