Call For Vendors - Japanese Fall Festival

The Springfield Sister Cities Association is now accepting applications for vendors and artisans for this year's 16th annual Japanese Fall Festival, September 9 – 11, 2011.

The three-day festival attracts nearly 10,000 attendees and is an annual celebration of Springfield's sister city of Isesaki, Japan. Local and national artisans will provide items which are authentic to Japanese culture and tradition. The SSCA Isesaki Committee will review vendor and artisan applications for authenticity of culture and gardening practices. The deadline for the assignment of a booth space is August 5, 2011.

Visit PeaceThroughPeople.org to download the Vendor Booth Application and submit to SSCA at 1923 N. Weller, Springfield, MO, 65803.

This year's festival will highlight special performances by a taiko drumming group, an expert candy artist and traditional tea ceremonies. A special area will be set up at the event where proceeds from items sold and donations will benefit the victims of the March 11 Japanese earthquake and tsunami. More than 25,000 lives were lost in the tragedy.

Admission for the event is $5, adults; $3 for kids under 12; and free under the age of two. More information on the event will be released later this summer.
