Annual Fiber Arts Fair Saturday, August 13

The Rutledge-Wilson Farm Community Park, 3825 W. Farm Road 14, will host its annual Fiber Arts Fair on August 13, and continues its summer camps with “Best in Show” running August 8 – 12.

Fiber Arts Fair

The free Fiber Arts Fair will be held from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. on Saturday, August 13, at Rutledge-Wilson Farm Park. Visitors can learn all about Fiber Arts from local guilds who will be demonstrating various fiber techniques.

Activities include catch-and-release fishing ($1.50); hayrides ($2); fiber arts demonstrations and booths (free); and more. The demonstrations include weaving, spinning, and basket making. Alpacas will be on-hand as well to illustrate where the raw materials come from to make related items.

"Best in Show" Summer Camp

The Farm Park has one week-long day camp from 9 a.m. – 3 p.m., August 8 – 12. The “Best in Show” Summer Camp is for kids ages 10 – 12.

Campers will discover firsthand how to prepare and train animals for a fair as well as learn what part farms play in our everyday lives. The children will learn about farm life through games, crafts, animal interactions, and hands-on activities. The cost for the “Best in Show” Summer Camp is $65 per camper.
