Public Hearing on Initiative Petition Open Until 5 p.m. Friday
Following a first reading and public hearing last night on an initiative petition that would require Springfield employers to use the federal E-Verify system when hiring employees, City Council has decided to keep the public hearing open until 5 p.m., Friday, Aug. 26.
Citizens who wish to express their opinions on the issue can e-mail Council at firstname.lastname@example.org, or write a letter to the City Clerk's Office, 840 Boonville Ave., Springfield, MO 65802. Citizens may also call the Clerk's Office at 864-1651; however, written correspondence is preferred.
