Urban Challenge Race is October 1

The Springfield-Greene County Park Board will host the Springfield Urban Challenge beginning at 10:45 a.m., Saturday, Oct. 1, 2011, at Chesterfield Family Center, 2511 W. Republic Road, with early registration pricing ending today, Friday, Sept. 9.

The Urban Challenge is a race through and around Springfield. Teams compete against each other to complete the course the fastest using a variety of transportation means (bike, running, walking, and swimming). Participants will encounter both mental and physical challenges during the race, requiring quick thinking and strong teamwork skills.

Teams of two will compete in Co-ed, Men’s or Women’s categories. Early registration on or before Friday, Sept. 9 is $90/team. Registration will be accepted through Friday, Sept. 23 for $120/team.
