SAAFhouse to host "Sterile Feral Day"

To commemorate National Feral Cat Day, SAAFhouse Spay-Neuter Clinic will host Sterile Feral Day, which will consist of two components:

  1. Volunteers will distribute literature to neighborhoods in Springfield with significant feral cat populations.
  2. "Feral Cat 101" classes will be held at the SAAFhouse clinic at 2:00 and 3:00 pm on Sunday, October 16. No registration is necessary. The public is encouraged to attend these free classes to learn more about feral cats and TNR (Trap Neuter Return), the most effective and humane solution for dealing with feral cat populations.

SAAFhouse Spay-Neuter Clinic is a project of Springfield Animal Advocacy Foundation. The clinic provides spay/neuter services for feral cats for a fee of $25, which also includes a rabies vaccination and eartipping (illustration above depicts a cat who has been eartipped). Humane traps are available for a $30 refundable deposit.
