Police Cadets Celebrate Graduation

The Springfield Police Department will be holding a graduation ceremony for 8 new SPD Cadets. The graduates spent a total of 12 weeks attending evening classes. The classes were held two nights a week, and were conducted at the Springfield Police Training Academy.

The classes included within the training session concentrated on law enforcement and the Springfield Police Department. The classes also included: Ethics and Professionalism, Interpersonal Skills, Fitness, Crime Scene Processing, Self-Defense, Firearm Safety, and First Aid.

After graduation, the cadets will continue to volunteer their time to the SPD and their communities. The ceremony will take place at 6 P.M., on Thursday, December 15, 2011, inside of the City Council Chambers, located in Historic City Hall. All are welcome to attend.
