Three Organizations Certified HometownREADY
The Springfield-Greene County Office of Emergency Management has certified Baptist Bible College, Dunrite Welding & Fabrications and the US Medical Center for Federal Prisoners through the office's HometownREADY disaster preparedness program.
HometownREADY is a program created and staffed by the Office of Emergency Management to help local businesses and organizations become disaster ready by providing a facility assessment, employee disaster preparedness training and assisting with the implementation of an emergency operations plan. Businesses and organizations must apply for participation in the program. Certification is free, but must be renewed every three years.
Baptist Bible College, Dunrite Welding & Fabrications and the US Medical Center for Federal Prisoners join the Office of Emergency Management and the Springfield Area Chamber of Commerce as the first businesses and organizations to receive HometownREADY certification.
Emergency Management staff will present certification plaques at noon, Thursday, Dec. 15, at the Office of Emergency Management, 833 Boonville Ave., Springfield. The presentation comes during the Local Emergency Planning Committee's regular meeting.
