Firefighters to Reunite with Children from Missouri Hotel

Firefighters from Station #2 will reunite at 4 p.m. today at Cox North Hospital, 1423 N. Jefferson, with some of the children they helped evacuate at last Friday's fire at the Missouri Hotel. The children have thank you cards for the firefighters who fought the blaze that damaged the homeless shelter. About 185 people, which included 56 children, were at the hotel when the fire broke out.

"This will be a very healing experience for both our team and for the children," said fire chief David Hall.

For more information, contact Cora Scott, Director of Public Information and Civic Engagement at 417-830-7271 or Rory Orgeron at 417-417-766-9756.

Media: Please park in the Cox Robberson Avenue lot, walk around to the circle drive entrance off Division. The children may tour a fire truck, weather permitting.
