Big Hair Ball Fundraiser Supports SAAFhouse

Springfield Animal Advocacy Foundation (SAAF) invites the community to the Second Annual Big Hair Ball. The event will be held on Friday, May 11, 7 pm, at Historic Firehouse #2, 101 East Commercial.

The event, hosted by Collette Parker Restoration, will include dinner, dancing, a silent auction, and "big hair" competition categories, including Wild Hair and People's Choice. Music will be provided by The Bel Airs. Infused Catering, Lindbergs, Mother's Brewing, and Major Brands will provide food and drink.

Tickets are $35 each or $250 for a table of eight. Tickets may be purchased in advance at SAAFhouse (1600 North Washington) All Pet Supplies (2845 W. Kearney and 1600 W. Republic), Maschino's (1715 S. Campbell), or Big Momma's Coffee & Espresso Bar (217 E. Commercial).

Additional information about the Big Hair Ball will be made available on the SAAF website (www.spayneuterspringfield.org) and Facebook page.

SAAFhouse is the first Humane Alliance model spay/neuter clinic in the state of Missouri. More than 7,200 surgeries have been performed at the clinic, preventing the births of more than 43,000 unwanted puppies and kittens.

SAAFhouse serves shelters, rescues, and pet owners who could not otherwise afford to have their animals spayed or neutered. "Keeping our prices to the bare minimum is absolutely critical," says Mary Crawford, Clinic Director. "SAAF is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit. All contributions are tax deductible and go directly towards spay/neuter surgeries."
