8th Annual ArtsFiesta! May 4

The 8th annual ArtsFiesta! returns to downtown Springfield's Founders Park Friday, May 4, 6-9 p.m.

The event, presented by the Springfield Sister Cities Association, is a celebration ofMexican music, dance and culture held in conjunction with Artsfest on Historic Walnut Street and First Friday Art Walk.

This year's ArtsFiesta! features Mariachi Viva Xalisco, appearing with special guest, Shelia Rios, bringing authentic Mariachi music from Springfield's sister city of Tlaquepaque, Mexico. The event also includes Mexican folkloric dance performances from Branson's Grupo Libertad and free games for children. Concessions and souvenirs from Tlaquepaque are available for purchase.

Founders Park is at 330 E. Water St., at the corner of Jefferson Avenue and Water in downtown Springfield. Admission to ArtsFiesta! is $5; children age 10 and younger are admitted free. Guests are encouraged to bring lawn chairs to enjoy a full evening of events.

ArtsFiesta! is sponsored by Allstate Insurance and Financial Services, the City of Tlaquepaque, the Springfield Sister Cities Association and the Springfield-Greene County Park Board.
