South District Police Station Reopens

The Springfield Police Department will be reopening the South District Station located at 2620 W. Battlefield beginning Tuesday May 29, 2012. The lobby hours will be Monday - Friday from 8:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. "We have been working to reopen the South District Station to citizens for some time now. We are pleased to be able to do so, given the positive turn in the economy, continued community support, and our ability to rebuild staffing levels", said Police Chief Paul Williams.

Any reports that could be filed at SPD headquarters can also be filed at the SDS location with the exception of towed vehicles. Citizens will still need to respond to SPD headquarters to retrieve their vehicles.
