Bark in the Park Dog Festival June 9

Dogs and their owners are invited to the 23rd Annual Bark in the Park dog festival Saturday, June 9, 8 a.m. to noon at Nathanael Greene-Close Memorial Park, 2400 S. Scenic Ave., Springfield.

The event includes a guided dog walk, a talent show for dogs and their families, hands-on kids' crafts and a commercial and non-profit canine vendor village.

Registration is $10 per dog and includes a (human) t-shirt. Register the day of the event at Nathanael Greene/Close Memorial Park.

All proceeds from the event go to the Cruse Dog Park, Springfield's first off-leash dog park, operated by the Springfield-Greene County Park Board at 2100 W. Catalpa.

Bark in the Park is presented by the Citizens Dog Park Committee and Springfield-Greene County Park Board. Event sponsors are Pet Warehouse and Deerfield Veterinary Hospital.
