Jan Fisk to Fill Vacant Council Seat
Jan Fisk was chosen as City Council's newest member at a special Council meeting June 12. She will take her oath of office Monday, June 18 and immediately serve as General Seat A Councilwoman. She joins Cindy Rushefsky as Council's second female member.
Fisk has been a resident of Springfield for 37 years, and is the co-owner of J. Howard Fisk Limousines. She is a graduate of Missouri State University and has been involved with numerous organizations in Springfield.
"I can't imagine working with a greater group of people," Fisk said. "I'm ready to jump in."
Council members interviewed three finalists, including Arthur Hodge and Michael Carroll, before voting to select Fisk, who had previously run for Council Zone 2.
