Police to Begin Charging for Reports

In the near future, the SPD will be digitizing its accident reports through a partnership with the Carfax© Police Crash Assistance Program. All accident reports will be stored electronically in a secure database and available for purchase online at either www.springfieldmo.gov/spd or www.crashdocs.org .

Filing electronic crash reports reduces overhead costs for the department and will allow more efficient public access to the reports. Reports needed by involved parties, insurance companies and other members of the public are now easily obtained online within minutes.

Working with Carfax Police Crash Assistance, the Springfield Police Department hopes to better serve our community.
