Turkey Trot Early Bird Registration Open

The Springfield-Greene County Park Board and Developmental Center of the Ozarks invites you to participate in the 18th annual Thanksgiving Day Turkey Trot 5K Run/Walk. The event begins at 8 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 22nd at the Springfield Exposition Center, 635 E. St. Louis St. The event will be held rain, snow or shine.

Early-bird registration continues now through 5 p.m., Friday, Nov. 16th. Participants may register online at Registrations may also be mailed to the Springfield-Greene County Park Board at 1923 N. Weller, Springfield, MO 65803 or dropped off at either the Park Board Office or the Killian Sports Complex. The Registration Fee is $20/adults and $15/children, 12 years and younger. Early Bird registration will close 5 p.m., Nov. 16th and will reopen on Wednesday, Nov. 21st 8 a.m. on site at the Springfield Exposition Center. At that time the Registration Fee is $25/adults and $20/children.

Awards for overall male, female and masters’ winners, along with door prizes, will be presented inside the Expo Center following the race. This race is the largest Thanksgiving Day 5K in the state of Missouri and one of the largest annual races in southwest Missouri.

All proceeds benefit Developmental Center of the Ozarks and the Springfield-Greene County Park Board Scholarship Fund. Participants are asked to bring three non-perishable food items for the Ozarks Food Harvest-The Food Bank.
