Citizen Police Academy Graduation

The Springfield Police Department will be hosting the graduation for the Citizens Police Academy (CPA) this Wednesday, Nov 28th at 6pm at the Springfield Police/Fire Regional Training Center (SPFRTC) located at 2620 W. Battlefield.

In attendance will be 22 graduates who attended 11 weeks of courses covering topics such as crime scene processing, investigations, narcotics & gang investigations, defensive tactics, firearms use, and traffic/DWI enforcement. The group also participated in 2 field trips, one to the SPD range and another touring the Greene County Jail, the 911 dispatch center, Police Headquarters, Springfield Police Fire Training Center, and South District Station (SDS).

The SPD hosts a CPA once a year and scheduling for the 2013 class will begin sometime in the first quarter of 2013.
