Health Department Releases First Issue of Vital Signs Report

The Springfield-Greene County Health Department today is releasing the inaugural edition of Vital Signs (pdf), a semi-regular snapshot of public health data.

Each edition of Vital Signs will focus in-depth on a different topic relevant to the health and safety of the Springfield and Greene County community. This edition focuses on influenza, with a look at recent historical comparisons and information on this season's vaccination efforts in the community.

"Our intention is for Vital Signs to be an accessible way for citizens and community leaders to see where we stand on issues that matter to all of our health," said Assistant Director of Health Clay Goddard. "Because these efforts focus so heavily on prevention, they are often invisible to many. But they are essential to a healthy and productive community."

Kendra Findley, Administrator of Community Health and Epidemiology, is available today for interviews about the Vital Signs report and about how the flu season is shaping up to this point in Greene County. Reporters and editors can schedule interviews with Findley by calling her directly at 417-864-1408.
