Police End Standoff in Southwest Springfield

Springfield Police have ended a nearly 12-hour standoff at a house located at 717 W. Tracy in southwest Springfield.

According to Lt. Scott Umbarger, police responded at 6:30 p.m., Thursday evening to a call from a woman who was threatened with a gun by her boyfriend. She was not physically injured and went to a safe location.

SPD's Special Response Team responded, and have now completed their search of the residence. The primary suspect was not located inside the house.

Officers are still on the scene collecting evidence from the attempted assault and other evidence of burglaries inside the house.
