Community Input Needed to Plan Sculpture Walk

The Springfield Art Museum, in partnership with the Springfield Regional Arts Council, Urban Districts Alliance and Springfield Public Works, will host a public forum to develop concept plans for a potential sculpture walk program. The purpose of the sculpture walk will be to promote public art in Springfield, enhance the pedestrian experience and link major activity centers in downtown Springfield.

Organizers also hope to create a collaboration of private investments and public institutions.

The meeting will take place at 5:30 p.m., Tuesday, January 29 the Springfield Art Museum, 1111 East Brookside Drive.

The forum will include a brief background of public art strategic planning and current projects, a moderated discussion by Nick Nelson, Springfield Art Museum Director, and provide an opportunity to give input into the development of concept plans.
