Investigation Continues Following Baby's Abduction

Following up on last night's report that missing Baby Harmony J. Blue had been found safe and was back with her family, Springfield Police continue the investigation today into determining who is responsible for the incident. Investigators continue to follow up on leads and collect evidence from the stolen vehicle, a 2002 gray Nissan Maxima, which was recovered in the 400 block of West Mount Vernon Street at approximately 9:30 p.m.

Springfield Police conducted an extensive search with all available officers throughout the course of March 2, the day she was abducted from a parking lot near Commercial Street and National Avenue.

"We were preparing to begin another round of searches by detectives at that time, when we received the good news that Harmony Blue had been located by a family member and was safe and sound," said Lt. Tad Peters, of the Springfield Police Criminal Investigations Division.
