The next edition of Vital Signs, a semi-regular snapshot of public health data from the Springfield-Greene County Health Department, is now available. All issues of these reports can be found online at http://health.springfieldmo.gov/vitalsigns.

Each edition of Vital Signs focuses in-depth on a different topic relevant to the health and safety of the Springfield and Greene County community. This edition focuses on food safety, including a look at recent outbreaks of food borne illness in our area and ways consumers can guard against such illnesses by following a few simple tips.

Kendra Findley, Community Health and Epidemiology Administrator, and Karen Prescott, Environmental Health Administrator, are available for interviews about food borne illness and food safety.

For more information or to set up an interview, contact: Mike Brothers, Public Information Administrator, (417) 874-1205.
