City Names Two New Assistant Directors
Errin Kemper, PE, D.WRE, was in January promoted to the position of assistant director of Environmental Services for the city of Springfield. Kemper has worked for the city as a professional engineer for more than 10 years, most recently serving in the Stormwater Engineering division of Public Works. He has a bachelor of science degree in civil engineering from the Missouri University of Science and Technology and a master's in civil engineering with emphasis in water resources engineering, also from MoS&T. Kemper is a licensed professional engineer (PE), a diplomate water resources engineer (D.WRE), a certified floodplain manager (ASFPM) and a certified stormwater manager (APWA).
Melissa Haase joined the city of Springfield as assistant director of Public Information & Civic Engagement on March 25. Haase will focus on the City's digital communication strategies, including enhancing springfieldmo.gov and creating additional avenues for citizens to connect with the City. Before joining the city, Haase worked as a digital content editor for Community Publishers Inc., publications manager for Mercy-Springfield Communities and as a reporter for Springfield Business Journal. She has a bachelor of science degree in journalism from Missouri State University.
