Adventure Race Early Registration Closes April 25

The 14th annual Ozark Greenways Adventure Race is just around the corner, coming to Springfield Saturday, May 18, 7 a.m. in Springfield.

This unique and challenging adventure race allows teams of two or four to compete together in mountain biking, running, canoeing, orienteering and more. This year's race offers a short course (3-5 hours) designed for beginners, or a long course (7-10 hours) for seasoned racers. The real adventure is in the itinerary and race distances, which are kept secret until the morning of the race.

The event is popular among regional "weekend warriors" and is the largest annual fundraiser for Springfield's growing greenway trail network. All proceeds go directly to the work of Ozark Greenways, the non-profit citizens' organization working to build and promote more trails as well as support Public Works' growing on-street bike route system.

This year's multisport endurance race headquarters out of Frisco Trails Mini Storage, but will not be the same route as last year - exciting new twists are planned!

All racers must be age 18 or older. Registration closes May 12.

Volunteers are needed and spectators are encouraged. Race details, registration, volunteer information and more available at greenwayrace.org.
